Be heard. Be seen. Be you.

My Perfect Relationship

I’ve been thinking about this topic for a while now.  A couple of friends of mine have already gotten engaged, and it’s set me off on thinking about relationships.  And thinking about relationships in general made me think about what I want in a relationship.  So here’s a list of things that would make the perfect relationship to me.

  • Kill the spiders for me
  • Share your fries and chicken nuggets with me
  • Be the big spoon
  • Let me be the big spoon sometimes
  • Cuddle me when I want to cuddle
  • Hold my hand in public
  • Touch me unconsciously, draw circles on my hands with your thumb
  • Hug me tight when I’m crying
  • Hug me tight when I’m not
  • Let me take funny pictures of you on Snapchat
  • Let me take funny selfies
  • Kiss my forehead
  • Make me laugh when I’m not in a laughing mood
  • Play with my hair
  • Let me play with your hair
  • Hold me tight when I have nightmares
  • Let me rest my head on your shoulder when I nap
  • Sing with me in the car, no matter how terrible we sound
  • Pillow fights
  • Take me stargazing
  • Let me read out loud to you
  • Stick with me through bad periods of depression
  • Random water gun fights
  • Text me good night/good morning
  • Kiss my nose
  • Hug me from behind
  • Be a feminist
  • Dance with me
  • Give me your hoodies
  • Let me hog the blankets when I’m freezing
  • Be my best friend
  • Grow together and apart
  • Encourage me to be the best I can be

I know this seems like a long list, and I’ll admit it is.  But, it’s just things that would make a relationship perfect to me, and it’s small things.  Honestly, I could easily forget about a few of these things and be happy.  This was just what came off the top of my head when I was thinking about this post.

I’m going to write another post related to this one soon.  It’ll be up around Valentine’s Day just because I feel like that’s the right time to post it.

I’m Kait

Welcome to my blog, Kait Mae. I created the blog in college as an assignment, then rebooted it when I worked for a newspaper as a creative outlet for articles that wouldn’t get published or some that I loved after I left that job. But after nearly two years, I’m rebooting it again as a creative outlet where I can share my thoughts on pop culture and media.

I hope you’ll stay awhile and check it out.
