Are you ever in the middle of winter and just want a movie that feels warm and reminds you of spring? Or do you ever just want a movie that feels like it does outside in the middle of spring? Then you’re in luck because I have a list of 14 movies that I, personally, feel encapsulates spring perfectly. So, let’s get right in – in no particular order.
‘Bambi’

Out of every single Disney animated movie, Bambi is by far the one that feels the most “spring.” There’s something about seeing Bambi’s story that just highlights what spring is in many cultures. We see him as a baby growing into a fully-grown stag, just as we expect from everything in spring.
‘Tuck Everlasting’

A deeply underrated Disney movie, Tuck Everlasting follows Winnie Foster, a young girl who stumbles upon the immortal Tuck family and the magical spring that granted them immortality. The film embodies spring with its warm palette, ethereal woodsy setting, and themes of renewal, life, and timeless beauty.
‘Sense and Sensibility’ (1995)

There’s just something about Jane Austen adaptations that feel like spring, and this one is no exception. The film is a mix of stormy emotions and bright new beginnings, just like spring itself. Its rolling green landscapes and blooming gardens set the backdrop for a story about love, heartbreak, and resilience.
‘Emma.’ (2020)

If spring were a movie, it would be the 2020 adaptation of Emma. The movie is full of pastel colors, flower-laden fields, and a lighthearted energy that mirrors the season. The witty, charming story of Emma Woodhouse meddling in love lives of her friends feels just like spring should.
‘Someone Great’

While technically a breakup movie, it feels like spring to me. At its core, it’s about new beginnings, just like spring. As Jenny navigates heartbreak and prepares for a new chapter in life, we see themes of transformation, self-growth, and friendship.
‘A Bug’s Life’

Only a few movies bring nature to life like A Bug’s Life. With its story centered on resilience and community, this animated movie is a celebration of what makes spring so beautiful and magical. Watching the world from the perspective of little bugs just makes it feel even more perfect for the season.
‘Peter Rabbit’

What animal do you think of immediately upon the first warm sunny day of spring? To me, it’s bunnies. Hence why I think Peter Rabbit feels like spring. Its charming countryside setting and characters make it the perfect movie for a cozy springtime night in.
‘Pride and Prejudice’ (2005)

First and foremost, this is the only Pride and Prejudice adaptation you have to see. On a similar note, this movie is perfect for spring because of its sunlit cinematography to rolling green fields. Elizabeth Bennet’s journey of self-discovery and love makes the movie feel full of possibility – just like the season does.
‘Prom Pact’

So, while my high school proms were in January and February, it’s more often held in mid- to late-spring. So, of course a prom movie feels like spring. Disney’s Prom Pact is a funny and heartwarming teen romcom that I think is Disney Channel’s comeback for non-musical DCOMs.
‘A League of Their Own’

Not to be confused with the Amazon show that was cancelled too soon, the original is more “spring” to me. First off, it’s a baseball movie – but it also has this hazy look to it that just feels like spring memories to me.
‘The Sound of Music’

Do I need to explain why this movie feels like spring or is it a common thought? Julie Andrews twirling across a meadow is all I need to know this is a movie perfect for a spring movie night. It’s a classic for a reason, people!
‘Eat Pray Love’

To me, spring should be about renewal and self-discovery, and Eat Pray Love perfect encompasses that. Liz Gilbert’s journey across Italy, India, and Bali is just a visual and emotional refresher after cold months. So, why not watch this movie to remind us to embrace change and new experiences this spring?
‘Hop’

I know not everyone celebrates Easter – that’s completely fine – but I have since I was a child. Is it my favorite holiday? No. But I love the bunnies, the aesthetic, and Easter movies – specifically Hop. So, if you’re looking for an Easter movie this spring, watch this one.
‘You’ve Got Mail’

I jumped on the You’ve Got Mail bandwagon way later than most people – mostly because I was born the same year the movie came out. And while it could also feel like fall to some people, I’m sticking it in spring because of its theme of renewal among flowering backdrops.
That’s fourteen movies that feel like spring to me. What movies just have that “spring” feel to you? Let me know because I’m looking to catch up on movies I’ve missed out on the last 26-ish years.
