I’ve decided to create a kind of diary-like series on my site. I’m going to be chronicling my love life. I don’t know why, but I felt like it would be kind of cool. I will not be using people’s real names just for privacy and protection. So, I’ll give them fake names just so it’s easier to follow. Anyway, let’s start with the beginning.
I wasn’t allowed to start dating until I was sixteen. I didn’t have my first kiss until exactly one month before my seventeenth birthday. I didn’t get an actual serious boyfriend until the summer I turned nineteen. He ghosted me as a break up. Then, over my second year in college, I was in a few relationships, only one lasted a few months. I was in a couple abusive relationships. I took a break from the dating scene to heal and learn who I was now that I was free of my past. I was growing.
And then, through social media, I met a really nice guy. I’m going to call him Henry. I wasn’t expecting anything to come out of it. I didn’t want to get my hopes up. I didn’t want to be disappointed or get my heart broken again. We had a great conversation and he asked me to go hiking. So, this past Saturday, we went to a park near campus and went hiking and I got some amazing pictures (below). It was nice, and I can tell I already like him.
Again, I’m not going to try to force a relationship if that’s not in the cards for us. If we end up dating, I’m okay with that. And if we end up just as friends, I’d be fine with that, too. Anyways, I’m writing this the Monday after Easter before I head to class. We have a thrift shopping date and then we’re going to watch an episode of Black Mirror together. Something about this relationship, if that’s what this is, seems so innocent and pure. It’s like a breath of fresh air from what I’ve been through in the past.
So, I’ll keep doing these posts, maybe make them a weekly thing. But we have two “dates” planned, but we haven’t defined if they’re dates. Like I said, it just seems so pure and nice. I really hope this works out because it feels right with him.
Also, I’ll keep you posted about what happens after my best friend interrogates him before our date. (She’s a little protective.)
I’ll see y’all on Thursday with a new post. Have a great week!
